The Albion-Bolton Branch is one of the largest libraries in Caledon. It serves as a community hub and holds many resources for its visitors. The intent was to bring the adjacent rolling hills of the Albion-Bolton Fairgrounds inside to create an oasis for reading.
The large rolling hills of the Albion-Bolton Fairgrounds adjacent provide a picturesque view to the library. In addition, the two trees located in the atrium begin to create a natural setting inside. By selecting colours and geometries that reference back to nature, a whimsical interpretation of a park is brought into the renovation of the Albion-Bolton branch. This provides an uplifting, fun and energetic space for visitors to relax and read a book or utilize the library’s resources.
